To get your Color Dog custom portrait:

Gather or take photos of your pet. More is better, as I get a better sense of personality the more photos I have.

Include at least two clear, close-up "head shots" (see Photo Tips).

You can mail your photos to the studio, or e-mail them to studio@sarahgaylecarter.com. If for some reason I need more or better photos, I will contact you.

Print out and complete the Color Dogs Purchase Request form (see below for link to form).

Fill in customer information, sign, and return to the studio via fax or mail.

Mail your deposit check, or call the studio to give us your credit card information.

If we are not available when you call, you can leave a phone number and a good time to call, and we will return your call as soon as possible.

The Color Purchase Request form, photos, and deposit can be sent together, or in any combination of forms, and in any sequence of time, but your order will not be "active" until we receive all three.

Photo Tips:
Take several photos.

To create a custom pet portrait, I will need several close-up, clear photographic images with clear eye detail.

Take photos at your pet's level so he/she is looking straight at the camera. I need at least a couple of "head shots" - chest and face looking straight at the camera.

Extra shots are helpful for additional info. Also, if possible any photo that conveys the personality of the subject.

Lighting is important.

I need enough light for clear detail, but not too much.

Midday sunshine and camera flash tends to flatten and wash out color and detail.

The best photos are taken outside in natural light in either early morning or later in the afternoon, or - if you have to be inside - choose a spot near a window with good natural light.
